To access the databases on www.finditva.com , you will need your local public library card number. This is a gateway to more than 15 full-text databases sponsored by the Library of Virginia. On this site you can find magazine and news articles, encyclopedias and other reference works, TV and radio transcripts, consumer information and investment reports, health and wellness information, and homework help, plus photos, charts, maps, diagrams and illustrations. With your public library card, you can download, print and e-mail articles.
This site offers access to four encyclopedias, Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, The New Book of Knowledge and Fuqua School also subscribes to Nueva encyclopedia Cumbre en linea.
To access the Grolier Online Encyclopedia:
Click “Internet Explorer” on your desktop.
Go to: Http://go.grolier.com (may ask for username/password).
Enter: Username: “fuqua” (case sensitive).
Enter Password: **See Library/Media Specialist for password.**
Begin researching.
This site offers access to Readers Guide to Periodical Literature and includes a helpful tutorial to use the databases to the fullest.
To access HW Wilson Web:
Click “Internet Explorer” on your desktop.
Type in Http://www.hwwilson.com
Click on “Login to Wilsonweb.”
Enter: Username: AWG33.
Enter: Password: **See Library/Media Specialist for password.**
Click “Login to WilsonWeb.”
Begin searching.
The Library of Virginia also sponsors this site for public and school libraries. Collections to search, eleven in all, offer business, general reference InfoTrac, etc., which provide indexes to magazines, newspapers, and reference books.
